# Agent Verify Layer

> Agent Verify Layer (AVL) is an MCP-first trust registry for AI agents. Before an agent books, buys from, or recommends a business or event, one MCP tool call returns whether it is verified, at what level (0-3), when that level was reached, and one plain sentence explaining what it means.

MCP endpoint: https://agentverifylayer.org/mcp (Streamable HTTP, JSON-RPC 2.0 over POST, stateless).
Auth: `Authorization: Bearer <key>`, `X-AVL-Key: <key>`, or `https://agentverifylayer.org/mcp/<key>`. No OAuth.

## Tools

- check-business(domain or name): verified (true at level 1+), verification_level, level_reached_at, meaning, as_of. Unknown businesses answer verified=false, found=false, level 0 (never an error).
- check-event(id, or name + city): same for events; never above the organizer's level.
- list-verified(category?, city?, min_level?, page?): verified businesses, highest level first.
- request-verification(domain, contact_email, name?): issue a code and exact DNS TXT / file steps; call again to check.
- report-problem(entity_id, reason): flag a listing for review.
- Pro keys also: lookup-history(entity_id, months?), monitor-add(entity_id, webhook_url), monitor-list, monitor-remove.

## Levels

- 0 listed only: in the registry (or not at all) with nothing proved.
- 1 domain verified: DNS TXT `avl=<code>` or https://DOMAIN/.well-known/avl-verification.txt containing the code; rechecked daily.
- 2 contact verified: AVL's agent called the business's published phone number and read a 6-digit code (or texted it), and the code came back.
- 3 transaction-tested: completed customer orders through a GoGo Venta store, or AVL admin review.
